Patriots safety Kevin Byard isn’t from Chicago, but Thursday night’s game will still be a homecoming of sorts for the veteran.

Byard played for the Bears for the last two seasons and was named a first-team All-Pro after helping them win the NFC North last season. Byard moved on as a free agent this offseason, but said he has no bad feelings about his departure and is excited to be back in “an electric environment” at Soldier Field.

The lack of bad feelings doesn’t mean he’ll do anything he can to give the Patriots a leg up in their bid for a fourth straight win.

“I’m giving the coaches and the players as much as I can, you know what I mean?” Byard said, via Kyle Hightower of the Associated Press. “Obviously, I am not there anymore, and I don’t have all my notes and stuff like that. But as far as personnel, anything I can kind of remember.”

Byard led the league with seven interceptions last season, but he has yet to pick a ball off this year. Getting one off of former teammate Caleb Williams might prove to be a bigger help to New England’s cause than any intel Byard might offer off the field.
