Blackshear worked out for the Lions on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweets. The former Panthers running back auditioned for the 49ers recently. Blackshear spent last season with four teams — the Panthers, Steelers, Titans and Jets — but has not seen game action since the 2024 season with Carolina.
A former Panthers UDFA, Ray spent three seasons with the NFC South team. The Alabama alum logged nine starts during the 2024 season and played in 13 games as a reserve last year. The Panthers used one of their eight regular-season injury activations on Ray last season, and they re-signed him to a one-year, $1.15MM deal in March. Carolina did not guarantee Ray anything upon bringing him back.
The Broncos drafted Washington in the 2022 fifth round but waived him in 2023. The return man collected a Super Bowl ring as part of the 2023 Chiefs but last saw action in 2024. The Giants gave him a reserve/futures deal in 2025 but cut him upon setting their 53-man roster last August. Washington worked out for the Texans today, KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson tweets.
