The New York Giants are obviously hoping and praying that this is the year the team finally earns some respect again. It’s been a rough go for the Giants. Their 4-13 record last season wasn’t pretty. Their 3-14 record the year before was even uglier.
But, help is on the way. Now, the team is headed up by John Harbaugh. He’s already won a championship. Now, it’s his job to do it in the biggest market.
Ahead of the new season, Harbaugh is getting a warning, though. He needs his players healthy, of course, and of those players, there’s one who really needs to heal up.
John Harbaugh and the Giants absolutely need one player healthy again
In a piece out on Tuesday, Ben Solak of ESPN points out five injuries in the NFL to monitor this season. The most important, he says, is wide receiver Malik Nabers of the Giants. No kidding.
“No injury has made more offseason headlines than Nabers’. The Giants’ star receiver tore his right ACL in Week 4 of the 2025 season and underwent surgery to repair the ligament, as well as the damage to his meniscus, a month later,” Solak notes in the piece. “But this past spring, Nabers had to undergo a second procedure on the same knee — a sign that his recovery was likely not going well.”
He also sends a huge warning, writing, “If Nabers has to miss regular-season time, the Giants’ receiving core might be one of the oldest and least effective in the league.”
That’s a scary thought. But, Harbaugh isn’t the kind of guy to just give up. Either way, he’s going to have a plan to help the Giants in his inaugural year.
