The Raiders announced the signing of Noah Brown on Monday, signaling that the veteran wide receiver is back at full health after an injury-marred 2025 season.
Brown, 30, appeared in four games for the Commanders last year, his second in Washington. He was carted off the field during minicamp but recovered in time to play in Week 1. A groin injury suffered the following week eventually forced him on injured reserve in October; he was activated for two games in December but was again placed on IR after just two games, ending his season. Staying healthy is not a new issue for Brown. He played a full slate of regular-season games just once in his career with just 35 appearances in the last three years.
Originally a Cowboys seventh-round pick in 2017, Brown did not emerge as a regular offensive contributor until his 43-catch, 555-yard campaign in 2022. He signed with the Texans the following year, where he ranked fourth in the league with career-highs of 17.3 yards per catch and 11th with 10.3 yards per target.
In Las Vegas, Brown will join arguably the league’s least-proven receiving corps with an opportunity to quickly carve out a role in Raiders’ new offense under Klint Kubiak. 2023 third-round pick Tre Tucker is the team’s only wideout with more than 500 yards in a single season of his career. 2025 draft picks Dont’e Thornton and Jack Bech struggled to make an impact rookie year, and free agent signing Jalen Nailor only averaged 1.7 receptions and 25.2 yards per game over his last two seasons in Minnesota. Thornton is also dealing with an injury, per Vincent Bonsignore of the California Post.
In a corresponding move to Brown’s signing, the Raiders released veteran defensive tackle Benito Jones. The 28-year-old arrived in Las Vegas this offseason after appearing in 31 games for the Dolphins over the previous two seasons. His departure indicates that Las Vegas is planning for 2025 draftees Tonka Hemingway and JJ Pegues to take on bigger roles in Patrick Graham‘s defense this year.
