The 49ers are signing wide receiver Dante Pettis to their practice squad, according to Jordan Schultz of The Schultz Report.
Pettis was one of nine players to work out for the team on Tuesday.
Injuries have decimated the 49ers wide receivers’ room, with Ricky Pearsall out for the season, Christian Kirk still on injured reserve and De’Zhaun Stribling and Demarcus Robinson missing time. Mike Evans left Sunday’s win over the Cardinals with a rib injury.
The 49ers signed veteran Brandin Cooks to the practice squad last week.
Pettis, 30, entered the NFL with the 49ers as a second-round pick in 2018, and he had 467 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie. The 49ers waived him during the 2020 season, and he has since played for the Giants, Bears and Saints.
In eight games with the Saints last season, Pettis made nine catches for 127 yards.
