Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders says he had the correct read but not the right execution on the play that led to his fourth-quarter interception in Saturday’s preseason action against the Chicago Bears.
“It was the right read. It just slipped,” Sanders told reporters after Saturday’s preseason loss. “So, that’s what makes me get mad a little bit because of it.
“But, any decision I’m making, I know it’s the right decision. I just didn’t execute the decision.”
Browns coach Todd Monken said after Saturday’s game it looked like Sanders had a “clear out with a dagger concept” before the “ball sailed a little bit on him.”
Sanders finished out his second-half appearance having completed six of 11 pass attempts for 79 passing yards.
