On a night when defense was optional, quarterback Bryce Young was instrumental in a 32-26 win as the Carolina Panthers outlasted the Detroit Lions on “Sunday Night Football.”

Here are some takeaways from Sunday’s NFL nightcap.

Key takeaway: Bryce Young feasts on historically bad Lions defense

While it was no secret that the Lions have struggled defensively this season and dealt with a banged-up roster on that side of the ball, that is no excuse for how poorly they have played.

Enter Young and the Panthers offense, which completely had their way the entire night. Young was simply sensational, going 29-of-41 for 329 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

He was so efficient that he completed 11 straight passes to begin the game, including this fourth-down conversion to wide receiver John Metchie III.
