Last Time in Action: Charlotte Flair defeated Lyra Valkyria, Sol Ruca, and Jade Cargill (SmackDown, June 12); Roxanne Perez defeated Maxxine Dupri (Main Event, June 11)

What should have been a dream match of sorts, featuring two women of different eras, was instead a thrown-together match-up used to help promote Charlotte Flair’s Queen of the Ring semifinal match against Liv Morgan this Friday on SmackDown.

Flair battled “The Prodigy,” Roxanne Perez, on Monday night on Raw, and despite the lackluster creative that accompanied it, the match was still good for the time it had. Perez never looked out of place, Flair did a fine job of selling her injured hand, and the result was a fun watch that ended with The Queen earning the submission win.

That Morgan tasked Perez with weakening Flair, only for the former tag team champion to lose, one has to assume it will serve as the latest case of tension mounting within The Judgment Day.

A solid match with potential long-term storyline impact, this should be considered a thumbs up.

Top Moments and Takeaways

  • Not only was Perez able to hang with Flair, but she may very well have been the best wrestler in the ring on this night.
  • A feud between Flair and partner, Alexa Bliss, and The Judgment Day could be a lot of fun and inject some freshness into the women’s division.
