Maxx Crosby is back with the Las Vegas Raiders, but how long will he stay there? Even though Crosby has a Raiders tattoo and claims he isn’t going anywhere, those in the NFL know better. There’s a real possibility his defunct trade to the Baltimore Ravens won’t be the last time he gets swapped to another franchise.
Now, Crosby is getting linked to a bevy of teams, most recently the San Francisco 49ers, but there’s another team that’s being discussed as a serious fit for Crosby. It’s a team that won the Super Bowl just two years ago and wants to get back there.
Crosby is being linked to the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though the Eagles don’t really have a strong need at pass-rusher, that may not stop the powers that be from thinking this is a good idea. It may even be a critical move if they want to compete against teams that are making big moves to rule the NFC, like the Los Angeles Rams getting Myles Garrett.
What the Eagles could give up to trade for Maxx Crosby
Jeff Kerr of On SI is jumping on the idea of Crosby going to the Eagles. In a piece out on Friday, he says that general manager Howie Roseman is “never satisfied with his roster, even if the Eagles are set at pass-rusher.”
“The Eagles acquired Jonathan Greenard in their big offseason splash, and also signed Arnold Ebiketie and AJ Epenesa this offseason,” he notes in the piece. “They also have Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt in the fold, so it’s fair to say they are set at pass-rusher.”
But he says that although the “Eagles don’t need Crosby, they can certainly make a push for him if they feel the Raiders star will put them ahead of the Rams in NFC contention.”
He suggests they trade a 2027 and 2028 first-round pick for Crosby. That seems high, frankly, considering Crosby’s injury history and how he didn’t pass the Ravens’ physical. But, the Eagles have the first-round picks to spare in wake of the A.J. Brown trade, so this is a move they could certainly make.
